Mississippi Power Operations Center

The Mississippi Power Operations Center is a storm readiness center that consists of an 81,000 SQ FT building including an access road, parking area, an off-site pump station & force main and other related infrastructure. Brown, Mitchell, & Alexander, Inc. was the Civil Engineer of record for the project with tasks including design and construction administration of the site improvements including site utilities, roadways, parking areas, and storm-water facilities. Included in our services was preparation of the Erosion Control Plan for the project and working with MSPCO permitting officials relative to the necessary MDEQ permits. BMA was also responsible for observing the installation of the storm-water improvements along with advising the general contractor during site storm-water erosion control site inspections. Construction costs for this portion of the project were approximately $3 million, overall project costs were $20 Million.
