Pascagoula Beachfront Promenade

Pascagoula Beachfront Promenade, Ph. I & II

In 2010, the City of Pascagoula selected Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA) in association with sub-consultants Christian Preus Landscape Architect, Simpkins & Costelli, Inc., and Canon Engineering, LLC to provide professional engineering, environmental permitting, and surveying services for the design of the Pascagoula Beachfront Promenade Project to include a multi-use pathway along the existing seawall along Beach Boulevard.
A major focus of the project will be construction of the promenade, a lighted, 10-foot wide concrete pathway for pedestrians from Point Park on the western end to the eastern edge of the drainage channel east of Oliver Street. Other project improvements include features such as shower stations, fire pits, pavilions and other amenities.
The project is being planned to be built in phases using a combination of City, MDOT, MEDQ, Tidelands, and CDBG/HUD funds.  It has an estimated total construction value of approximately $4 million. Phase 1 of the project was completed in 2013 with Phase 2 currently under construction and expected to be completed in 2017.
