Pascagoula Beachfront Promenade, Ph. I & II

about this project

In 2010, the City of Pascagoula selected Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA) in association with sub-consultants Christian Preus Landscape Architect, Simpkins & Costelli, Inc., and Canon Engineering, LLC to provide professional engineering, environmental permitting, and surveying services for the design of the Pascagoula Beachfront Promenade Project to include a multi-use pathway along the existing seawall along Beach Boulevard.

The construction of the promenade, a lighted, 10-foot-wide concrete pathway for pedestrians from Point Park on the western end to the eastern edge of the drainage channel east of Oliver Street, was the major focus of the project. Other project improvements include features such as shower stations, fire pits, pavilions, and other amenities.

The project was built in two phases using a combination of City, MDOT, MEDQ, Tidelands, and CDBG/HUD funds. It has an estimated total construction value of approximately $4 million.
